We Cooked Out!

Holt was certainly hungry, but not just for hot dogs and potato salad.  After the overwhelming success of its first Community Cookout Fundraiser, Holt Community Arts Council leaders have no doubt that the people of Holt are looking to connect with other community members and participate in the arts.

The Arts Council fed nearly 400 people at its cookout on Thursday, July 31, 2008, and another 600 or so attended that night’s installment of Music in the Garden, which featured Three Men and a Tenor.

We Built Gill!

This temporary sculpture — a colorful, three-dimensional blue gill — was the focal point of the 2008 Water Quality Awareness Week Open House and Re-Use Rally, on May 10, at the Delhi Township Recycling Center.

On the day of the open house, visitors helped attach approximately 2,500 empty laundry detergent bottles to a pre-built frame that was 25-feet long and 15-feet high.

To affect the quality of the day, that is the highest of arts.  - Henry David Thoreau                                                                 Without art, the crudeness of reality would make the world unbearable.  - George Bernard Shaw                                                                 Art is not made for anybody and is, at the same time, for everybody. - Piet Mondrian
